On Sunday 18th July, my family and I will join PanKind’s "Put Your Foot Down" Walk to raise funds and awareness for pancreatic cancer research.
Please put your foot down with us and honour Delia's memory – the wife, mother, mother in law and grandmother we miss every day.
We'd be grateful for a donation to support this very worthy cause, so close to our hearts. Every gesture of support, big or small, has the potential to make a difference.
If she was here, Delia would have been the best advocate that pancreatic cancer ever had. Success has many fathers, but Delia was a champion for the underdog.
History tells us that cancer survival outcomes are highly correlated with research funding. But pancreatic cancer is caught in an injustice spiral. The lack of survivors means there are no advocates for funding, leading to inadequate research efforts, resulting in no treatment breakthroughs and ending tragically in no survivors and no advocates for funding.
So Delia cannot be the amazing advocate for pancreatic cancer we know she would have been. It is up to us.
Please give generously. Every dollar counts.
With sincere thanks,
Tony Ponti
PanKind Australian Pancreatic Cancer Foundation Limited
Pankind’s mission is to triple the pancreatic cancer survival rate by 2030 and significantly improve the quality of life for those impacted by the disease.
Together with our partners and community, we’re confronting pancreatic cancer head-on. Making progress a reality through groundbreaking research, compassionate support, and tireless advocacy. Because when the stakes are this high, action isn’t just important—it’s essential and urgent.
Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and for too long, progress has lagged behind. Survival rates have barely improved in decades, leaving people diagnosed feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. We’re determined to change this. We are the only Australian organisation solely dedicated to improving outcomes for those affected by pancreatic cancer.
